Our Mission
Founded in 1870, the Natick Historical Society (NHS) is one of the oldest local historical societies in Massachusetts. Today, our mission is to build community by inspiring connections to local history. At the core of our work is a commitment to expanding Natick’s public historical narratives to include people and events that have been overlooked or misunderstood, and embracing complexity in our interpretations.
What We Do
We operate the Natick History Museum and Archives, and partner with over one dozen organizations each year to offer 30+ programs at no cost to the public. Our internship, fellowship, and volunteer programs have grown to include more than two dozen people of all ages and we offer talks and tours to students in local schools and universities, including to all of Natick's third graders. Through our collections, programs, and outreach, we conserve, interpret, and share the historic elements of our past that are central to the development and ongoing life of the Natick community.

Our Funding
Since its incorporation, the NHS has remained an independent nonprofit that thrives on the generosity of donors and grantors and receives no municipal funds. Private and public donations, as well as foundation grants, support the Natick Historical Society. We appreciate your support! Learn more here.
