Walk Natick Center with local historian Terri Evans and learn how the arrival of the railroad and the rise of the shoe industry shaped 19th-century Natick. Discover the community’s response to the 1874 fire and how arts and culture have inspired the “heart of Natick” today.

Oldtown Walking Tour

Join local historian Terri Evans for a stroll through the heart of South Natick. The tour includes discussion of the 17-century mission community, or Praying Town, and the character of 19-century South Natick, which inspired Harriet Beecher Stowe's novel, Oldtown Folks.

Connect with Natick High School memorabilia. Explore vintage maps of the area. Read 18th-century land documents. Listen to the sounds (and silence) of the Natick Theatre in the 1920s. See artifacts made in Natick across the centuries. Kids: try your hand with a quill pen! Meet and watch local artisan Ron Michael demonstrate the arts of caning and basket weaving.
