Virtual History Book Club - American Rose: A Nation Laid Bare

If you are interested in joining us for a virtual book discussion, please email: director@natickhistoricalsociety.org.

Everyone is welcome to join a discussion of American Rose: A Nation Laid Bare: The Life and Times of Gypsy Rose Lee by Karen Abbott.

American Rose: A Nation Laid Bare (2012), tells the story of Gypsy Rose Lee, a burlesque dancer during the Great Depression. Using exclusive interviews and never-before-published material, she vividly delves into Gypsy’s world, including her intense triangle relationship with her sister, actress June Havoc, and their formidable mother, Rose, a petite but ferocious woman who literally killed to get her daughters on the stage.

This program is co-sponsored with the Bacon Free Library. It is FREE and open to the public.
